Thanks, Auntie Lisa!

I mentioned Jonah's love for the digital camera to my sister, and this is what he gets in the mail today! His own camera! He's here with me now, pointing to the picture of himself on the computer and pointing down to his camera happily. He's in love, Lisa. Maybe I'll get him to start documenting the chicks now...
Lucky's doing fine by the way. Here she is, safe and sound. She's remarkably docile, really a nice little bird.

Yay, you got my camera. And yay, Lucky's okay!!!

I, er, forgot to send the cable so you can download the photos. I'll do that. Michael said Windows might recognize the camera and help you out with downloading photos. The camera came with a disc a million years ago, but it's long gone.

But for now I'm glad Jonah's having fun!

By the way, it's good to see my old camera getting the love it deserves. It served me well for a long time. Then it just sat around getting dusty while my pretty new camera got all the attention.

Lucky's very cute, but the way...

Don't worry about the cable, he really likes seeing the image appear on the screen most of all. He brought the camera out on a walk yesterday, so it's definitely being loved. Such a nice gift!

Lucky is adorable. And...

Last night I had a dream that I was sauteing up some live chicks with olive oil, garlic, and bok choy. It was really terrible, they were running around the pan because their feet were getting too hot! Burnt chick feet! Awful! There's no way I can eat these babies!

Hooray! I love finding out about your urban chicken adventures. But I have an ignorant question: odds are you've got a rooster or two in the bunch, right? What's to keep them from crowing and alienating the neighborhood? I'd also be interested in a post on your plans for border collie/chicken relations.

Hi Ross!

I actually have some glamor shots of the other four-legged denizens uploaded just for that kind of post, so stay tuned!

Our neighbor has a renegade rooster; we've never seen him, but we know he's there! But we wouldn't keep one, from what I've heard you can sell them fairly easily on Craigslist. And, yes, that one would probably end up in someone's saute pan eventually... :(
